ON Saturday, October 5, staff, residents, families and friends from Bowden Derra Park at Polyphant took part in a memory walk for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Last year, Tina Urquhart from Bowden Derra Park, based in Polyphant, organised her first memory walk with the care home and it was so successful that she decided to organise another one for this year.

More than 50 people of all ages and abilities took part and after quite a few wet days, the weather stayed dry for the group while they walked. They had two routes — one 5km route around Sibleyback lake on a fully accessible path, and a longer 10km route that took in ancient pathways and across the Bullard Downs.

All participants received a medal and a cupcake at the end.
