SATURDAY, March 26 saw a huge skateboard and scooter competition at Launceston indoor skate park, 'The Unit'.

The competition was put on to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, and Okehampton based Will Harrison is also running the London marathon for the charity in April. It was a massive success with over 45 kids taking part in the competitions and over 100 attendees at the park who came to watch.

The evening kicked off with the scooter competitions and saw a level of riding you would see in professional competitions, including back flips! There were some outstanding performances from Ben Thacker and Kyle Wogan, but in first place, winning a brand new scooter, was Craig Mallet, after a seriously impressive display.
