KIVELLS residential property sales negotiator James Petherick was delighted to be rewarded for his hard work and dedication during a recent award ceremony held by Petroc College of Further and Higher Education.

James, from the Kivells Holsworthy office, won the Outstanding Achievement in Business (Apprentice of the Year) award for successfully completing both Level 2 and 3 frameworks to a high standard after securing his placement with Kivells. It was also recognised that James had been a supportive, reliable and all-round model student.

James completed a week of work experience at Kivells and secured an apprenticeship after impressing during this time. James was not only taken on full-time after his apprenticeship but was also promoted within his first year at Kivells.

James completed an advanced apprenticeship in Business Administration which allowed him to develop and learn key skills and knowledge essential to almost all businesses. James went on to become a key team member at Kivells Holsworthy and a popular addition to the Kivells team.

James had special words for his tutor, Marie Gould, and, workplace assessor, Becca Miller, both of whom were amazingly supportive throughout the process and for Kivells who not only facilitated the apprenticeship but also provided James with full-time employment at the end of the apprenticeship.

James said: “I greatly enjoyed my time at Petroc and I truly feel that my course has given me the background knowledge that I need to perform and excel in my current position. The course was tailored to suit me, this meant I could concentrate on certain units that had more relevance to my job role, thus making me more developed in the areas I need to be to ensure I am successful.

“I’ve always been a motivated learner, however I’ve always known that going to university wasn’t quite the route for my. As such, I decided on an apprenticeship and have never looked back. It’s been a useful and enjoyable experience and I now feel far better equipped to carry out the tasks that are asked of me.”
