KAREN Franklin took part in the Riding Clubs National Horse Trials Championships at Aston le Walls in Northants.
Having completed a three day event of dressage, cross country and show jumping Karen riding Indelible Opposition finished on her dressage score, in 2nd place in a very close competition (0.4 penalties behind the winner).
Karen, who lives in Otterham and is Practice Manager for her husband Nick's Equine Veterinary Practice, was representing the Camel Valley Riding Club for the third time at Intermediate level on the same horse who was bred just a few miles away at Deli Farm by Pip Edwards.
Last year Indie and Karen were 4th nationally and were delighted to improve their dressage to come 2nd this year. Karen said, Indie is 9 years old now and is just getting better and better. He is such a reliable competitor and a pleasure to own.
The pair will now concentrate on dressage for the autumn having qualified for the Petplan area festival with British Dressage and aiming for the Winter Regional Competition as well.
