THIS is the third Christmas that the Cholwill family, Bridgerule, has made wooden reindeer in aid of Little Harbour, Children’s Hospice.
Little did the family think these seasonal wooden animals would prove so popular — at an event a week or two ago 25 were sold within half an hour with a further 20 people having to place an order to secure one.
Colin’s workshop has been taken over by reindeer with this year’s orders totalling about 160.
When the last Rudolph is delivered to its new home for Christmas, £5,500 will have been donated to Little Harbour over the three years.
The family requests that the hospice purchase specific items with the donations. To date items for the children’s sensory room and a suite of furniture for the family entrance has been purchased.
The sale of this year’s reindeer will mean that this favourite charity will be able to purchase more worthwhile items.
