MEMBERS of Launceston College's student council had an exciting trip to London to start the new half term, with a chance to see the halls of power in the Houses of Parliament.
A packed day saw a tour of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, climbing the 334 steps of Queen Elizabeth's Tower to see Big Ben strike 3pm, and a visit to Downing Street.
Students all agreed the long day was worth it, and look forward to calling for 'Division' if the College Council cannot agree on a course of action.

Elizabethan skylines and dodgy souvenir sellers were the not the only feature of the new era London presented to the students of Launceston College. It seemed the matter of early mornings and tedious weather were not a painful break from school, yet a chance to experience the surplus cultures emitting from our capital. However, what may have been expected to be nothing more than a stereotypical school trip was contradicted by the lengthy train rides and bustling atmosphere the streets of London provided for us.
