THERE was a sweet smell of success when Bude marmalade maestro Margaret Reeve presented a £500 cheque to the Provincial Grand Chapter of Cornwall’s Charity Race Night in Perranporth.
Margaret’s homemade preserves have supported various charitable causes over the past three years. This time, she dedicated her proceeds to the Chapter Charity Fund, a cause close to the hearts of the Masonic community.
The cheque was received in March by Grand Superintendent, Excellent Companion Jon Arnold, who said: “Margaret’s marmalade remains a symbol of the power of small, heartfelt actions leading to big, positive outcomes. It's a reminder that generosity comes in many forms - whether through financial support, volunteering or a simple jar of homemade marmalade.”
The evening raised £1,952 in total.
