One German visitor from Bristol expressed his frustration since, like the 3.5 million EU citizens resident in the UK and although he had lived in England for many years, he had been denied a vote in the referendum.
The event organiser, Liberal Democrat Tom O’Sullivan said he was very pleased with the event and thanked the many volunteers who turned up to help.
He said a special thanks to former North Cornwall District Councillor Tony Edwards who came along despite at the moment not enjoying the best of health.
He also thanked Torridge District Councillor Cheryl Cottle-Hunkin from Torrington and Stephen Potts who travelled from Westward Ho!
Similar events are being held in towns all over the country and ‘Britain for Europe’ will be holding a mass rally in London on June 23, the second anniversary of the referendum.
