THE Bridgerule Village Open Gardens 10th Anniversary will take place on Sunday, June 19, from 11am.
There is chance for the public to visit the gardens and see what is on offer, with an added bonus of the event being opened by Anne Swithinbank of Gardeners World.
Ten gardens are open, covering a broad range of situations from compact new-builds to a 16-acre smallholding with lake and water mill.
The ten gardens to visit are: Uplands, Sylvia and John; Canna Park, Sally and Mike; Morwenna, Jane and Paul; Tamar House, Roger and Cindy; Watersedge, Alan; The Bridge Mill, Alan and Rosie; The Villa, Claire and Terry; Meadows Barn, Chris and Rose; Baraq, Sue and Victor; Owlies, Barry and Sarah.
Visitors can also visit Bridgerule Village Hall for morning coffees, a cake and produce stall, cream teas in the afternoon, there will also be a children’s art exhibition and cards for sale.
Alan Beat said: “As Bridgerule sits between the two counties we support both the Cornwall and the Devon Air Ambulance services. We started up 10 years ago and over that time we have been able to raise about £18,900 for the air ambulance charities. We are aiming to break the £20,000 mark with this year’s event.
“This is a great event and always offers something new each year, with this year showing a mix of the old and the new. Those who have been supporters for the last 10 years of the Open Gardens have been able to see how each of the gardens have changed and grown, and those seeing them for the first time are able to enjoy the wonderful gardens that have been developed over many years.
“We are also looking forward to having Anne Swithinbank opening and talking at the gardens and she will be on hand throughout the day to answer any of the public’s gardening questions.”
Anne and her husband John will be opening the 10th Anniversary Open Gardens in Bridgerule, near Holsworthy, at 11am, in aid of the Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulance charities. They will then spend the day touring the gardens, meeting owners and visitors.
There’s something to interest everyone and gardeners themselves will be on hand to answer any queries.
