JOHN and Gillian Mann of Higher Truscott near Launceston opened their gardens to the public recently to help raise money for St Stephen’s church roof appeal.

In excess of 220 people went along during the weekend.

A quilt that was created by Gillian and her daughter to raise money for the appeal was raffled on the day, and went to Mrs Turner, Crackington Haven. A total of £1,151.06 was raised.

The Rev Jane Everitt, vicar of Launceston, said: “Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and to all who contributed to raising such an amazing amount.”

A total of £2,455 has been passed to St Stephen’s appeal towards the work that needs doing at St Stephen the Martyr Church.
