A WOMAN from Bude and her dog will be taking on the Muddy Dog Challenge in support of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The Muddy Dog Challenge is the UK’s first obstacle course where you can compete in 2.5km and 5km obstacle runs with your dog, and Terri Mitchell will be taking part in the 5km with her pooch Dylan.

They will be taking part in the challenge in Windsor on May 20, which will see them speeding through muddy obstacles.

While Terri has been training hard, running 5km a day on the treadmill, she doesn’t think Dylan will be too pleased with having to get muddy on the day, and said she hasn’t shared the news with him yet.

She said: “Dylan is a very tall, elegant lurcher and he doesn’t like getting wet, let alone muddy! I have got one of those leads that goes around the waist. I can see myself wading through the mud and Dylan going around the outside. It will be great fun and Windsor Park is a lovely setting.”

Terri has rehomed several dogs from Battersea over the years, which is why she wanted to support the home. Dylan is from the St Francis Home for Animals in Newquay — both homes, she said, are wonderful organisations doing a fantastic job.
