THE apparently discretionary one-way street layouts of Ross always keeps one on one's toes, but especially when a glitch in the overall one-way matrix sees even more creative driving solutions adopted. So, to such as the Red Meadow exits and Kyrle Street, even the Market Square, we can add Old Gloucester Road as the rat run of choice to the discerning driver with much to do and so little time. Now, not seeing the signs on pole and road is one thing, and between the driver, their optometrist and possibly an understanding traffic officer, but deliberate flouting, at speed, is another matter. The risks are huge. There is the potential for a head on collision as these one-ways often end at blind junctions. There is also the grave danger to pedestrians, especially with kids involved. People may not be expecting a vehicle to appear from directions they are not meant to. Yours faithfully in dodging, Peter Martin, Ross
