IT'S all change at the top in Camelford, after a new — and possibly the youngest Deputy Mayor — was elected.

At the town council meeting, held on April 19 at Camelford Hall, after a secret nomination exercise, Cllr Andy Shaw was replaced by Cllr Aaron Scawn by five votes to four, with the remaining two votes going to Cllr Brian Lush.

As a result of the one vote advantage, Cllr Scawn — aged 27 —was given first choice as to whether he would accept or decline the position.

He said he was flattered to be nominated by the council and that he felt very privileged to represent the town in this new capacity.
