SPOT the local driving instructors helping to raise money for Children in Need as part of the Big Learner Relay.
Driving instructors came together for a fundraising event at Homeleigh Garden Centre, Launceston, on?Sunday prior to the relay race taking place on November 11.
As part of the Big Learner Relay a baton — a specially designed driving school car roof top box — will be passed from one instructor to another across the UK during driving lessons.
Alongside the race some driving schools are also offering free lessons with donations to charity, conducting lessons wearing fancy dress and a variety of other activities.
With the help of driving instructors nationwide the event has already managed to raise more than £30,000 and this figure is still climbing.
The baton will make its way to Jason Jeffery Driver Training of Launceston from Lockerley Driving School of Holsworthy and will be passed over at the Homeleigh Garden Centre on November 11.
The event held at the weekend raised extra funds to go towards Children in Need. Attended by Pudsey bear and a small fleet of cars, it helped raise awareness of the upcoming relay and provided an extra opportunity for locals to make a contribution.
The driving instructors collected donations from the public who in return were able to write a message on one of the spots that is to adorn the cars during the relay race. They raised £150.
All driving instructors are encouraged to take part by joining their local convoy behind the lead car with the baton, or purchase items from the online shop. Details can be found on www.biglearnerrelay.co.uk
