BUDE man Tony Webb will be carrying the Olympic Torch through Liskeard this Saturday.

A former Paralympic competitor, Tony suffers from retinoblastoma and has been blind since he was two-years-old. Born in Stratton, Tony has a strong fondness for Cornwall as a whole and returned following time away in Bristol and Shrewsbury a passionate sportsman.

He began gig rowing around 13 years ago — having decided he'd like to row the width of a bay on the day of the 1999 eclipse. Deterred from doing it alone, Tony was instead joined by six other blind persons and a coxswain for his successful trip.
