VEHICLES from the bygone days, bikes, bands, beer, blue skies and a bustling atmosphere proved popular at the Launceston and Steam Vintage Rally.

The event, now in its 33rd year, took place over the bank holiday at Trebant Farm, near Altarnun.

Steam engines of all sizes, motor cars and vintage tractors packed the fields alongside craft and horticultural displays, a dog show, action from Launceston Motor Club and a tractor pulling event.

Entertainment was provided over the three evenings in the beer tent from Rudh, the Horseband and Lockin.

Chairman Matt Garrett said: "The weekend went very, very well. The new horticultural section went down very well. It was well attended and the weather was good which helped. We all had a lovely time.

"The Arrow Barrows were as fantastic as ever, they were funny and gave a very slick performance. The air cadets helped us out again this year, they were tremendous and were also recruiting on the day.

"As a committee we would like to thank all the people who came, who exhibited and helped out, it was a tremendous effort."

Preparations are already underway for next year, Matt added: "We started planning next year's event two months ago, we never stop."
