BRADWORTHY were knocked out of the Brayford Cup but will be wondering how they lost this quarter final by such a margin in a game in which they were more than equal to their opponents.

They started slowly however and allowed their opponents to take the lead after some poor defending left the Torridgeside striker with an easy left foot finish from six yards. A couple long range efforts had narrowly fizzed past Will Radford's goal before Brad' dragged themselves back into the game. Luke Potter smashed a shot from inside the penalty box before Carlo Chandler broke free but dragged his right foot shot past the far post.

The second half started much the way the first had ended. Bradworthy, playing with more urgency, started to string some neat passing football together to carve open a couple of half chances as the pressure mounted.

For all the neat interplay outside of the box the final ball almost always lacked quality, Carlo Chandler rose highest to nod Liam Curtis' chipped cross wide on the few occasions Bradworthy troubled the home side's goal. They thought they had been awarded a penalty on the hour mark when Potter was crudely barged in the back but the referee waved away the protests and minutes later, with Torridge-side's first foray into the Bradworthy half, Brad fell two goals behind.

Two more delightful strikes followed as the home sides confidence soared before Luke Potter tapped in a deserved late consolation for the visitors.
