THE winning designs for North Petherwin Bus Shelter were picked, materials were purchased and they were ready to go with the next stage of the Bus Shelter initiative!
WPC Nicky Lawson, Neighbourhood Beat Manager Launceston Rural and PCSO Sharon Chinn spent a couple of days working with North Petherwin School Children to place the winning design onto a board ready to go into the bus shelter.
This involved the Year 5 and 6 children, painting the white primer on, followed by the winning design being projected onto the board and traced. Then there was a lot of fun to be had by painting the designs onto the board.
The Parish Council will now be working hard to prepare the shelter ready for the board to be put in situe. Hopefully, it will be in place within the next week or so !
WPC Lawson said: "Working with the children was brilliant and has really worked on building relationships up between the children and the Police. The project has also given the children a sense of pride in the village as well as respect and responsibility for the environment around them."
