THE old timers had their annual tournament events at Crackington last Sunday. A rare sunny day meant that only the real die-hards turned out for an afternoon indoors, but the competition was as fierce as ever. Results were:

Veterans Singles: Dave Salisbury (winner), Jim Rickwood (runner-up).

Hard Bat Singles: Jim Rickwood (winner), Dave Salisbury (runner-up).

Super Veterans (over-55) Singles: Bill Pope (winner), Jim Rickwood (runner-up).

The league championship goes to the wire this week, following a 5-5 draw between the two teams last week. Tamar Valley lead Blisland 'A' by just two points, and both teams have just one match to play. Tamar Valley entertain White Hart, while Blisland travel to Crackington 'A'.
