A PORT Isaac woman has left £3.5-million in her will — with a long list of organisations set to benefit from her great generosity. She was Evelyn Ellen Taylor, who died a year ago.
Among several beneficiaries who will share in her estate of £3,532,701 — published this week — are St Peter's Church at Port Isaac and Port Isaac Village Hall.
Others include the RNLI, British Red Cross Society, Salvation Arm, Oxfam, Barnardo's, the Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, the Trustees for Methodist Purposes (North Cornwall Circuit), NSPCC, RSPCA, and Macmillan Cancer Relief, and First Air Ambulance Service Trust.
Residents at Port Isaac were delighted to hear of the bequest — the hall is in need of improvement.
Evelyn Taylor's fortune came mainly from the family furniture business.
