As the New Year draws near, the organisers of the North Cornwall Book Festival have got some exciting news to announce.

Not only is the 2021 festival currently going ahead but it has been brought forward to September 23 – 26, 2021.

This means longer, sunnier days for all to enjoy the festival experience. As normal, tickets will go on sale on July 1, but the festival at Endelienta, Helston, Camelford, has already got a host of exceptional authors confirmed including novelist John Banville, who won the Booker prize in 2005, Anna Pavord, the great garden historian and gardening correspondent for the Independent and Paul Mendez, whose debut novel Rainbow Milk was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn award.

The annual Cornish contingent will be led by Phillip Marsden, who will be talking about his account of his voyage to the Summer Isles.

They are also going to be joined by bestselling authors, Louise Doughty, Amanda Craig and Eleanor Anstruther. If that’s not enough Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell will join the festival as part of the younger readers and family’s programme.

Other authors will be announced in time but follow the festival on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to be kept up to date with the latest announcements.

The North Cornwall Book Festival At Home series reached its festive climax last week with Cathy Rentzenbrink but if you missed any of it, or want to watch your favourite again, all the videos are currently available to view on the book festival’s website and YouTube channel.
