POLICE said there was no hostage situation in Delabole last week as reported in other press, but officers were allegedly ‘stamped on’ during the execution of their duty.

They were called to the Spar shop on the high street just before 6pm on Tuesday, September 5, following concerns for the welfare of a man who was allegedly making threats to harm.

Police attempted to detain a man, but two officers were allegedly assaulted during the execution of their duty.

A 45-year-old man from Camelford is helping police with their enquiries.
