THERE will be no Holsworthy Carnival Queen leading the town's carnival this November. Despite a well publicised search over the past weeks to find candidates, not one girl has put herself forward. Carnival secretary Wendy Rogers has expressed her disappointment and is puzzled by the lack of response. There will however be a Fairy Queen. She will be Ellie Abbott who was officially installed at the Crown and Sceptre last Monday evening, though she will not be crowned until Carnival Day (November 21). Ellie is a former attendant, but has decided that she will not have any attendants of her own this year.
