LOOKING back to March 2016, the Post reported that Port Isaac’s Doc Martin star, Martin Clunes, was offering a £2,000 reward for the safe return of Pippin the dog, a Yorkshire terrier-cross-poodle from Leicester.

Pippin has still not been returned to his home in Leicester, and a culprit is yet to be caught by police.

Gareth Wilson, son of Pippin’s owner, Jane, told the Post in March 2016 that the glass panel of his mother’s kitchen door, in her home in Wigston, had been smashed through, and that he thought that the culprit must have known Pippin’s name, to have called him out through the glass. Pippin has been missing since March 15, 2016.

Jane and Pippin had met Martin Clunes, who plays Doc Martin, based and set in Port Isaac, during a holiday to the seaside village, where they shared an umbrella and a chat until a shower of rain had subsided.

Hearing of Pippin’s disappearance, Mr Clunes — a dog lover himself — announced that he would be offering a £2,000 reward for the safe return of Pippin. However, this still hasn’t brought anyone forward with Jane’s beloved dog.

Gareth said, this week, that he and his mother are ‘highly infuriated’ by the situation. Despite a number of possible leads, sadly Pippin’s whereabouts are still unknown.

Gareth and Jane are still urging anyone with information to anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or the police on 101.
