The mayor and deputy mayor of Camelford, Cllrs Andy Shaw and Rob Rotchell were re-elected to their positions at the annual meeting on May 20. There were two nominations for mayor — Cllrs Shaw and Bonnie Grills. With eight councillors present at the meeting, each received four votes each. The chair was then given the casting vote and, before he made his choice, Cllr Grills extended her hand and said "Congratulations". On accepting the position of mayor for another year, Cllr Shaw said: "Thank you very much, councillors, for your support." There were four nominations for deputy mayor, Cllrs Rotchell, Shirley Goodman, Bonnie Grills and Sue Elford. Cllr Rotchell was re-elected with five votes. Cllr Grills received two and Cllr Elford one. Cllr Rotchell said: "Thank you very much, one and all."
