AN entertaining encounter at Polson ended in a convincing victory for third placed Cornish All Blacks over their fifth placed visitors who opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a try from their captain Robert Baldwin.

The All Blacks could have taken the lead three minutes earlier with a penalty but Tony Yapp's kick from 20 metres went wide.

The opening score followed a Wharfedale passing move which created a two against one against home winger Ben Turner.

Five minutes later the All Blacks replied with No 8 Sam Hocking crossing the line after a great push by the pack from a five metre scrum. Yapp converted for a 7-5 lead.

The lead was increased when Yapp raced over from 10 metres after several phases of All Black possession. He converted and soon after landed a penalty from 30 metres to punish an offside offence.

Wharfedale fought back to be level at half time.

Centre Christopher Malherbe finished a neat interchange to touch down on the half hour, and his midfield partner James Tincknell added a try which was converted by Mark Bedworth.

The All Blacks regained the lead within minutes of the re-start, Hocking powering his way over the line following good work by second row Ben Hilton and Tony Yapp.

Wharfedale again struck back with flanker Daniel Salomi sprinting over following a ruck, with Mark Bedworth converting.

Yapp regained the home side's lead with a penalty from inside the Wharfedale half.

All Blacks replacement second row Darren Semmens made an excellent break and sent Tom Rawlings through to score in the corner with ten minutes to play to make it 31-24.

The scoring was completed in the closing minutes, with Ryan Westren feeding fellow centre Jake Murphy to allow him to cap an outstanding performance with a try. for Yapp to convert.
