KNITTING enthusiasts have taken to Launceston as part of a new craze encouraging people to take up the craft.
People throughout the town have been in a twist as to the source of the colourful creations, which have adorned signposts, and even a bench, for the past fortnight.
It is now though understood that a balaclava clad youngster has been putting up the beacons — which amongst other locations in the town, can be found on Westgate Street, the Square, Madford Lane, Southgate Arch and Broad Street — as part of a trend known as 'Yarnbombing'. Non-permanent, the pieces can remain in place for years.
One lady in the town told the 'Post' she had also seen the 'tags' in Truro, whilst another said she had noticed them, but had no idea as to what they were.
