REV Christopher Penn, the new priest-in-charge for Holsworthy, Hollacombe and Milton Damerel, was licensed at an official ceremony in the church of St Peter and St Paul, Holsworthy, on Monday.

He was licensed by the Bishop of Crediton, the Right Reverend Nick McKinnel and installed by the Archdeacon of Barnstaple, the Venerable David Gunn-Johnson.

Charles Cornish performed the role of Bishop's chaplain. Rev Christopher and his wife, Susan, moved to Holsworthy last month, along with their daughter, India and son, Harry. He was former rector in the Lichfield Diocese and rural officer for Salop archdeaconry.

"It is great to welcome Christopher from the Welsh borders down here to West Devon," added Bishop Nick. "He knows rural life through and through and will provide leadership to the churches in proclaiming God's love in Holsworthy, Hollacombe and Milton Damerel."
