THE new Team Rector for Launceston, including Tregadillett, has been appointed by the Bishop of Truro, the Rt Rev Tim Thornton.
She is the Rev Jane Everitt, presently curate at the united benefice of Poulton, Carleton and Singleton in the Diocese of Blackburn, Lancashire, The date for her licensing and installation will be arranged early in the new year.
Mrs Everitt was born in Nuneaton in February 1957, and moved with her parents to Blackpool in 1981, where they bought a small hotel. She worked for 31 years in the civil service but left in 2008 when 'testing her vocation to the ordained ministry'.
She said: "I had trained and been licensed as a 'Reader' in Blackburn Diocese in 2004, thinking that this was the ministry that God was calling me to, but I soon realised that God was calling me to test my vocation to ordained ministry."
