A NEW start and a new image were the big announcements at the first open day for a Camelford Leisure Centre.

Wayne Jordan-Shilling, Managing Director of the Camelford Leisure Centre Ltd was delighted by the turnout of over two hundred people last Saturday and said: "The staff and directors of the centre expected significant support from the community, but the number of people surprised us all."

The open day provided an opportunity to officially launch the centre now that it is run by residents as an Industrial and Provident Society with Community Benefit. The reception area has been completely refurbished, work is about to start on a new fitness suite that will be accessible to members at all times, and plans are well-advanced to create a cafe.
