THERE are two new ‘children crossing’ signs and ‘slow’ road markings in Lewannick, thanks to Cornwall Council.

Liberal Democrat divisional member Adrian Parsons said parents had raised concerns about traffic speeding through the village with him.

He said of the new traffic calming measures: “This will hopefully provide a safe crossing point for the children to access the school footpath. It was good to meet with the junior road safety officers from Lewannick school together with parents and Claire Tyler from Lewannick Parish Council.

“We are all hoping that this will encourage drivers to slow down!”
