THE very first Cornish branch of 99p Stores opens this week in Launceston — creating 35 brand new jobs.

The brand new £250,000 Launceston 451 sq. mtr. store — at the former Peacocks at Launceston Retail Park — opens on Wednesday, July 25 and will be the 196th UK branch of the rapidly expanding value brand which began in 2001 in London.

Boss of the chain Hussein Lalani said today that the public's appetite for "value" has now become "insatiable".

And Mr Lalani added that the British public is deserting the Big Four supermarkets in droves and coming to 99p Stores instead.
