LION, John Cottle, handed over the ceremonial chain to Lion Ray Fursdon at a cider and pasty evening held at Higher Shorston, Holsworthy, on Sunday (June 30).
The event saw over 40 Lions and their families, all in attendance to thank John for his service, over the last 12 months, and welcome Ray in his second stint as Lions President.
The past year was, perhaps, one of the most successful ones in recent times for Holsworthy & District Lions. Various fund-raising events included the Easter egg draw, the speed-pool tournaments in Holsworthy and Bude, and the ever-popular Lions BBQ raised in the region of £8,000.
