Sgt Pennie Channing attended the Holsworthy Town Council meeting held on Wednesday (October 4) and explained how new officers PC Adrian Wilson and PC Anna Rock would be joining Holsworthy Police team in November.
She explained that PC Wilson had 20 years worth of experience, he was qualified as a sergeant and that he said he was "quite pleased to be returning to the area."
His position would include patrolling the whole of the rural and town area and PC Rock would be patrolling the rural area.
Sgt Channing also gave the police report for the month and explained how it had been quite quiet.
Reported crimes included one domestic allegation; one non dwelling burglary; one juvenille assault; one drink driver in the town and a burglary at Holsworthy Community College. Nothing was stolen however, and it is believed the person may have been a possible ex-pupil of the college.
Other crimes included a theft of heating oils; two cases of shoplifting — one of these was at Waitrose and the other at the Bazaar shop in the Square. Five other domestic related incidents were reported and a road traffic collision.
