The members of Sir Bevil Granville Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1231 assembled at the Masonic Hall in Bude on Friday, December 7, to welcome a new member.

The meeting was supported by members of lodges from around the Province of Cornwall including the Provincial Grand Senior Warden Sean Moyse and the Provincial Grand Junior Warden Roger Kneebone. They were accompanied by Phillip Lakin and David Langridge, the two Provincial Grand Junior Deacons, and Adrian Waters, the Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.

The members were delighted with the large number of active provincial officers attending, which is usually reserved for installation meetings. The ceremony of admitting the new member was carried out by the Worshipful Master Steve Duke who was assisted by his team of officers.

Following the formal proceedings a celebration Christmas dinner was held in the lodge dining room where the usual toasts were honoured. A toast was proposed to the new member by the Worshipful Master and he welcomed him into the Mark Master Masons degree of freemasonry.

He replied that he would uphold the traditions of the lodge and thanked all those present for their support and friendly welcome into the branch of the masonic family. A raffle raised in excess of £100 for masonic charities.
