THE annual Temple Church rogation walk took place at the end of May.
Led as usual by local naturalist and conservation expert, David Attwell, a number of church members partook in a two and a half hour walk which saw them do the usual rituals of praying for the parish boundaries and the crops and for the farmers.
However this year, they went to a new location situated atop Colvannick Tor, overlooking the A30 and the Temple Roadworks in the distance.
The congregation (albeit smaller than usual due to a number of people being away) soaked up the sun on one of the best days for rogationeering in recent years.
The Rev Canon Sherry Bryan who was one of the walkers, was extremely pleased with the day.
Ms Bryan said: “As usual we had a lovely day taking part in the rogation walk. It was extremely well led by David Attwell and he took us to a place I don’t think I’ve ever been to before, situated high above the A30 which gave us an incredible view of Temple, the ongoing roadworks and the surrounding areas.
“Not only that there was an excellent atmosphere despite the smaller than usual turnout which continued during our thanksgiving service and when we headed back to David and Sally’s for a little get together.”
