POTTER Baker, Chartered Accountants in Laun­ceston recently revealed their new corporate image. Now as part of their continued review of the business, the firm has promoted three of their staff to the position of senior manager.

The new senior managers are all qualified accountants with a wealth of experience and expertise between them. They each bring their own specialism and interest to the role, and a shared enthusiasm, positivity and pro active approach to carry Potter Baker forward.

Kate Vaughnley has worked for both national and regional firms within the South West since qualifying in 1998. Kate has a vast range of experience gained through working with a diverse portfolio of owner managed businesses in accounts preparation, tax planning and audit.

She said: "Good accountancy is about much more than just facts and figures. Our focus is on adding value to our clients by understanding both their business and personal objectives. We aim to develop long term relationships to provide our clients with all the help and guidance that they need."

Sam McCleery is a Fellow Chartered Accountant she qualified in 1992 and has an honours degree in Mathematics. She has a wide variety of experience in Finance, Audit and Administration having spent a number of years heading finance teams in various business sectors.

Sam, who specialises in Limited Company accounts as well as Budgeting, Management Reporting, Business Systems and Procedures, said: "Our own hands on experience and understanding of how businesses are run means we can relate to our clients and give them realistic, practical advice and solutions that are both relevant and workable."

Karenza Warren has recently qualified with the firm as a Chartered Accountant. After achieving a first class honours degree in Financial Services and working within a Private Investment Bank in London, Karenza returned to Cornwall and has worked in Launceston for the past eight years.

She has experience with a variety of industry sectors including retail, hospitality and agriculture, primarily focusing on owner managed businesses, both incorporated and unincorporated. Karenza will be specialising in taxation and tax planning.

Karenza said: "The role of an accountant stretches far beyond one off annual contact and should focus on becoming an integral part of a client's business."

Additionally, as the only Cornish members of the AVN Association, Potter Baker has extensive access to specialist tools and resources which further enhance their knowledge and expertise. These range from cutting edge tax strategies to day to day systems and compliance tools.
