A police report sent to the council by Sergeant Pennie Channing said February had been a very quiet month in Holsworthy with crime at a 12 year low. The only reported crimes included an attempted burglary, one drink drive case, two mobile phone thefts and some vandalism.
Arrangements for St Peter's Fair Day were discussed. They should also discuss with the Church and Court Leet the provision of seats for visiting dignitaries at the Pretty Maid ceremony. Cllr Elizabeth Squire suggested that, in the current financial crisis, they only invite dignitaries who were their closest neighbours.
Holsworthy Chamber of Trade is anxious to work with the town council to organise more community events in the town. Cllr Pam Johns, who is also secretary of the Chamber of Trade, suggested they might arrange a firework display in Stanhope Park next November 5.
She knew of a company who would do a survey for them. It was decided to put the matter on the agenda of the Parks Committee.
