YOUNGSTERS from Kingfisher Nursery in Boyton are celebrating a £250 'thank you' from NatWest. It will be used to buy new gardening equipment for the children to use in their soon to be improved outside area.

Lynda Statton, who works as a NatWest Relationship Manager Assistant in Launceston, received the funding for the group after winning a NatWest Community Cashback Award in recognition of her role as the treasurer of the nursery.

The NatWest Community Cashback scheme pays out awards ranging from £100 to £1,000 to individual employees and teams who make a difference to their communities by fundraising, helping and managing local organisations and charities.

The sum of £250 is awarded to those who, like Lynda, are involved in the management of an organisation or charity.

It is the third year running Lynda has received the award after last year's funds were used to buy a new ride-on tractor and other toys.

Commenting on the award, Lynda said: "It's great that NatWest are continuing to support my community involvement in this way. When you give up your own time it is nice to know that your employers are willing to give you a helping hand."

Lorraine Sluggett, manager of Kingfisher Nursery, added: "We're delighted that NatWest has recognised Lynda's activities with us again. Kind donations like this make a real difference to a nursery like ours and the gardening equipment it will enable us to purchase will benefit the children for years to come."
