VICTORIA Road will be the home of a new supermarket in Camelford with a sales area of 2,000 square metres.
Planning permission has been granted to European Land Ltd to build a store on the periphery of the town that will be "sympathetic to the character and appearance of Victoria Road."
Cornwall Council's Strategic Planning Committee met to discuss the plans last Thursday.
The plans include a foodstore, a medical centre and three two bedroom affordable houses.
Residents sent in 46 letters of objection, a petition with 358 signatures and the local Co-op also protested.
