THE Mums in Business Market, a Launceston based initiative, is launching a new competition to encourage, celebrate and support the young entrepreneurs of Cornwall.

Everyone under the age of 21 can enter this Dragons’ Den style competition to win a stall sponsored by local businesses. Twenty-two Launceston businesses have pledged their support for the event, each sponsoring a stall for £20.

Entrants with a craft, skill, service or business idea are invited to enter by filling in a form on the website and uploading a 90 second ‘Elevator Pitch’ video to tell the Mums in Business Market who they are, what they have to offer and why they should win a stall.

A panel of judges made up of the sponsor businesses will then choose 22 lucky winners.

There are two age categories, under 15 and 16 to 21. People can enter as an individual or as part of a group.

There is no lower age limit and so far the youngest entrant is just six-years-old!

Entries must be in by July 14 with the winners being announced the following week.

The Youthpreneur Market will be held in Launceston at the White Hart Hotel, on August 19 to coincide with #visitlaunceston day and the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Family Fun Day.
