A NEW club for women — Women on Wednesday — held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, June 3, in Clawton Village Hall.

Visitors and new members were welcomed with wine and nibbles and had the opportunity to learn more about the club and what it has to offer.

Jenny Richardson from North Devon Hospice gave a talk about the Long House in Holsworthy and club members presented a cheque for £100 to the appeal. The money was raised at a dance earlier this year.

The next meeting of the club will be on Wednesday, July 1, at 7.30pm in Clawton Village Hall when Howard Wills will be talking about exhibiting at RHS Shows, such as Chelsea, where he has won medals. Plants will be available for sale on the night.

Visitors are very welcome to come along.
