CAMELFORD Town Council has appointed Lee Dunkley as its new clerk after the previous clerk, Marian Sedgwick, retired in October.

Mr Dunkley, 27, will be commuting from his home on the Lizard and will take up the role on Monday, February 10.

He said: "Camelford is a really forward thinking place; there is lots to be done there so it will not be a dormant role. Though the town is quite small, the town council has been taking on assets for the community, which is great as Cornwall Council moves to being a strategic council."
