THE annual meeting of the Launceston and District Men’s Probus Club took place recently at the White Horse, where it was announced Jeff Jamieson would take over as chairman from Terry Parker for 2017.

Most of the committee members will continue as before, but John Conway was elected as club auditor and joined the committee for the first time in place of Dennis Howson.

The new chairman, Mr Jamieson, told members that the growth in new membership was to be a priority and asked the membership for any new suggestions.

Mr Jamieson also thanked Mr Parker for all his hard work as chairman in 2016, which included many new ideas. He also thanked secretary Jim Elliott and treasurer John Moir for their dedication.
