A NEW bird hide, honouring the life of a Camelford wildlife enthusiast, is now available for public use in Enfield Park.
The news came during town clerk Esther Greig’s report to the town council at a recent meeting.
She said: “The bird hide has been completed. It looks very nice and has already got a couple of bird marks on it.”
The bird hide is located in a picturesque spot by the river in Enfield Park, and is there for the preservation of wildlife.
It has been installed by the town council in memory of local wildlife enthusiast, Andy Bond, who sadly passed away unexpectedly last year.
His son, Stephen Bond, a town councillor, said he was delighted to have a place for people to watch local wildlife, something his father would have been so pleased with.
He said: “We as a family would like to thank the council for the new hide in dad’s memory. It means a lot to us that he was so well thought of in the town and this will be a great way for him to be remembered.
“He loved the park so much and could always be found there.
“It’s a fitting tribute to dad in a place that he was so fond of and we are all so grateful that his name will live on through this hide.”
