ST Swithin’s Church was transformed into a wonderful setting for a craft fayre from Wednesday, September 5 to Tuesday, September 11.

This was the twelfth craft fayre, and there were 42 stalls with many of the stallholders returning year after year.

The stalls were full of delightful gifts of jewellery, paintings, wood turned items, delicious fudge, jams and chutneys and much more.

There is a permanent bric-a-brac stall and a raffle was held. Megan and Mary were in charge here.

The kitchen was busy serving up teas, coffees, cake and the light lunches they are known for.

It was a very popular event and a profitable one too. £3,120 net profit was made.

When putting on an event of this kind our volunteers are key. Thanks were expressed to Jan Hunt, Dee Wynne-Morter, Lilian Quinn, and many more of the friends and supporters who donated their time and cooking skills.

It has been a great success and indeed, all the stalls are sold for the next craft fayre, the Christmas craft fayre, which is from November 30 to December 3.

There will be another craft fayre next year in September.
