Cllr Lea Deely, who chairs the steering group running the neighbourhood plan, said the group, which has been working on the plan for around four years, has included more than 200 volunteers.
Cllr Deely told the Post: “I’m anxious people are aware over 200 volunteers were involved, and we have been working on it for over four years to get to this point.”
The meeting of Bude-Stratton Town Council on February 2 heard the neighbourhood plan has been examined, and a report has been submitted by the examiner with several minor amendments.
It will then be up to Emma Ball, of Cornwall Council, to make the necessary arrangements for the plan to be signed off.
Cllr Deely told the meeting on February 2 that if 51% of those who vote in May vote in favour of the plan, it will be made.
