THE draft Neighbourhood Development Plan for Camelford has been sent to Cornwall Council for ratification.
Councillors were full of praise for the team behind the document at a recent meeting of the town council.
Cllr Kirsty Ferguson, deputy mayor, said: “I’ve read it and I think it’s an amazing piece of work.”
Cllr Andy Shaw, who has worked on the document for six years, said that although he is the chairman of the group, Cllr Claire Hewlett has carried out an ‘awful lot of work’ towards the plan.
Neighbourhood Development Plans cover land use planning issues for the neighbourhood area. It sets out planning policies in relation to development and use of land in the area.
Within the plans, local priorities can be expressed as well as the allocation of sites for housing and other developments.
Cllr Hewlett said: “It’s not all singing, all dancing, but it’s the best we can do.”
Once sent to Cornwall Council, the plan goes through a four to six-week screening period.
Cllr Shaw proposed to send the document to Cornwall Council for ratification. Cllr Alan Burgis seconded and all councillors voted in favour.
