A HISTORIC pool has achieved a £5,000 funding boost to improve its facilities.
The Friends of Bude Pool can now go ahead and build a focal point containing lockers and changing facilities, a refreshments' kiosk, and an educational hub for children conducting school projects. All will be available for residents, visitors and schools alike.
The pool was built in 1930. It provides a safe haven for people of all ages to swim and enjoy the coast. This new facility will also include a staff viewing point.
The charity has been fundraising through a variety of activities for some time, including swimming distances equivalent to the English Channel.
It has raised around £4,000 to go towards the £9,000 cost of the new facility.
With the £5,000 award from Engage Mutual, the project can now begin.
