AN entertainment night was held at St Giles-on-the-Heath village hall on Friday, April 8, to help raise money for its upkeep.

The coffee evening held, to raise money for the community shop’s building fund, was a great success with £550 being raised.

The evening started with coffee and tea being served to those who attended.

Brian Higbee, accompanied by his guitar, gave the evening’s entertainment and he sang many songs, which delighted a full house.

The stalls being held at the event included a cake stall, tombola stall, a well-laden raffle and a ‘guess the dolls birthday’ competition.

Shop committee chairman, Ken Hamyln, gave a vote of thanks to all those who attended, helped out on the stalls and contributed to help raise this sum of money.
